The
Copper Family has a treasured place in our country’s musical heritage. For more
than 400 years they have lived and worked in and around the village of
Rottingdean. But what makes them unique is their family tradition of singing
together and bringing to a worldwide audience the glorious songs and ballads
once sung by the soldiers, sailors and farm workers of these islands.
Now
into the seventh generation of singing in private family gatherings, as well as
for a now wider public audience, an evening spent in their jovial company is to
be part of a thriving oral tradition in full flow.
It's a real privilege for us to be hosting them again.
